White Chalk Paint Wax

This product seals and protects walls and furniture painted with decorative Chalk Paint® against the elements. We also supply black, dark, and clear wax.

  • You want the renovated kitchen cabinet, dresser, bathroom vanity, or chair you have revamped to stay beautiful as long as possible.
  • Chalk paint needs a protective finish, providing the old furniture you have given a face-lift with a shielding layer to defend against stains and other damage.
  • Chalk paint is porous, and some supplies may pull tannins through it from the wood, leaving pink or yellowish spots on very light or white stains. Wax is safe to use as it does not cause this problem.

You can create a bleached, gentle and quiet, Swedish or coastal look with white paint wax. Generate either a smooth or uneven appearance, to your preference.

White Paint Wax Tips and Tricks

The look you achieve will depend on the direction of the brush strokes and how hard or light your brush strokes are when applying them over the chalk paint.

  • Cover just the tip of your wax brush. You do not want to saturate it because you want to apply the white paint wax in thin layers to avoid build-up.
  • You can choose to seal small sections of the piece of furniture at a time. Likewise, you can use large back and forth brush strokes in one direction only or left to right plus up and down to create whichever effect you want.
  • Just apply a thin coating and then use a soft lint-free cloth to wipe away excessive amounts and accumulation inside crevices and at corners – if you do not want to create that specific Swedish effect – and to buff the white chalk paint wax to a shine.
  • Wax requires an hour or two to dry, depending on the temperature and several other factors, before you apply a second coat. You want to ensure that it is not sticky when you touch it

Leave your piece for a few days so the wax can harden well before using your furniture, and enjoy.
